Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions constitute a written agreement between Wander the Past and our customers. Full or part payment accepted signifies an understanding and acceptance of the Terms & Conditions outlined below.
Reservations
Reservations can be made through our website or an approved booking representative.
Booking Options, Payment & Guarantee
When booking online, your credit or debit card details will be requested to complete your purchase and a “print-at-home” ticket will be generated. Full payment, as itemised, will be debited and your account statement will identify the transaction as ____.
If booking through an approved representative, payment will be taken in accordance with their own terms and conditions of ticket sales. Your reservation is guaranteed by the issuing of a payment receipt or tour ticket(s).
Payment
Full payment must be made prior to your tour experience. Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Solo, Delta, JCB, Maestro, Electon and American Express are all acceptable forms of payment.
Cancellation by the Customer
The cancellation policy stated below is upheld without exception. It reflects the limited number of spaces available per tour and the disruption that cancellation may cause.
Period before a tour % payable
8 or more days 0%
4-7 days 25%
1-3 day 50%
0 days, no shows, 100%
or after tour departure
Cancellation by us
In the event that circumstances require that we cancel a tour and an alternative cannot be offered or taken, no penalty or administration charge will apply.
If applicable, a refund in full will then be made within ten (10) working days of confirmed cancellation. No compensation or other claims of this nature will be accepted in the event of cancellation.
Booking Amendments
Where feasible, a booking amendment requested ten (10) days or more prior to a tour’s departure will be accommodated without charge.
After the above time, an administration charge of 10% of the booking’s net value applies.
Where an amendment can’t be made and the booking can’t be fulfilled, the cancellation Policy outlined above is applicable instead.
Children
Children under the age of sixteen (16) must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Responsibility for minors remains with their accompanying adult.
Animals / Pets
With the exception of Assistance Dogs, other animals are unfortunately not permitted on tours. Responsibility for Assistance Dogs remains with the person accompanying them.
Weather Conditions
Customers accept that we cannot be held responsible for any last-minute alterations or cancellations due to inclement weather or other such circumstances beyond our control.
Concessions
As a general rule, bookings will be accepted at face value at the time of booking. At our discretion, proof of any concession entitlement claimed may be requested at any time during fulfilment of your ticket.
Such proof will include any official form of ID that contains a recognisable photograph and date of birth.
Failure to produce this evidence upon request may result in the concession being withdrawn and payment being requested for the remaining cost of a full-price adult ticket.
Prices
Your ticket price includes statutory insurance, VAT, all taxes and anything else specifically mentioned as included.
Your ticket excludes personal insurance, food, beverages, additional activities, gratuities, and any other items not specifically mentioned as included.
The agreed price of a ticket will not change unless external circumstances beyond our control necessitate so. At such a time, customers will be notified of the change no less than twenty-eight (28) days prior to a tour’s departure date (where circumstances permit). Should a price amendment be found unacceptable, the booking may be cancelled as per our Cancellation Policy, with the proviso that any subsequent cancellations made ten (10) days or more before a departure date will not have an administrative charge or penalty applied.
Insurance
UK laws includes compulsory and statutory insurance against any accident and third-party liability. Customer insurance against personal injury, item theft, loss, or any other such event is not included. It is therefore advisable that customers take personal responsibility for such measures.
Reserved Rights
We reserve the right to:
Make operational changes considered necessary at any time.
Cancel a booking at any time, should conditions or circumstances necessitate, offering substitutes of equal value or a full refund without administration charge or penalty, as outlined in our Cancellation by Us clause. If circumstances warrant, a full and documented reason shall be provided for doing so.
We reserve the right to require anyone who cannot travel independently as part of a tour to be accompanied by a companion who can provide any necessary assistance and take full responsibility for that individual’s wellbeing.
Decline or teminate the attendance of a customer, whenever the Tour Guide deems that such action is warranted. At such a time, the customer’s onward travel will be their sole responsibility. A full and documented reason for the Tour Guide’s decision will afterwards be provided to the customer in writing. An equitable cash amount, without penalty or administration charge, will also be refunded as outlined by our cancellation clause above. No compensation, consequential losses, expenses, or any other such a claim from that customer will be accepted. Reasons for action of this nature include, but are not limited to:
Violence, racism, or any form of prejudiced abuse, whether verbal or physical.
Refusal or failure to comply with health & safety issues.
Behaviour that a Tour Guide deems unlawful, disruptive, dangerous, or insulting to tour customers.
Refusal or failure to pay the correct tour fee or provide adequate evidence of tour entitlement related to the ticket type purchased.
Make alterations or changes to these Terms & Conditions at any time, ensuring that customers with existing bookings receive the latest copy prior to taking their booking. Should the revised Terms & Conditions be unacceptable to a pre-booked customer, the booking may be cancelled without penalty or administration charge as detailed under our Cancellation by Us clause.
Liability
In so far as our duties extend to the provision of a safe and fit-for-purpose service/product, staff are not liable for any accident, injury, loss, damage, expense, delay, personal negligence, inclement weather, act of God, sickness, Government restriction, quarantines, legal regulation, or any other such circumstance out of our direct control.
We don’t accept liability for instances where tours are prevented or affected by “force majeure” (i.e. external events/factors that cannot be foreseen). These include, but are not limited to, acts of war, civil unrest, riots, terrorism, industrial disputes, natural disasters, adverse weather, fire, etc.
We will not hold liability for any form of losses, costs, or damages resulting from, or related to, our services and products.
In any context, the maximum amount payable as liability will not exceed the total fee collected for the provision of the goods and/or services provided.
Complaints & Disputes
We must be made aware of any dispute/complaint in writing no more than twenty-one (21) days from the instance to which it is related. We will then be granted a further sixty (60) days to investigate and resolve the dispute/complaint without the involvement of third parties, outside solicitors, litigation, or counsel.
In the event that a complaint/dispute cannot be satisfactorily resolved, both parties accept that it will be settled and determined by final and binding arbitration conducted in accordance with English law.
